Work with me - Navigate the challenges of midlife, menopause and career.

Counselling for women in their 40s and 50s – Warwickshire based therapist

I work with clients online, by telephone and face-to-face in South Warwickshire at the Southam Speaking Space. I'm based in the UK and work online with clients all over the world.

From my work with women in midlife there are common themes that clients explore in therapy:

  • Navigating relationship dynamics with partner, children, wider family

  • Experiencing loss/grief following the death of parents, loss of friendships, loss of a role.

  • Managing work-related stress and career changes

  • Feeling uncertain and scared about the future

  • Re-evaluating past decisions and coming to terms with a sense of regret or lost opportunities

  • Coping with physical changes and the impact on health and identity.

Social media often paints midlife as a time of transformation, opportunity, and growth but for many, this can add to the pressure. Clients share how isolating it feels to appear like they’re holding everything together while, on the inside, they feel disconnected from others and from life itself.

Therapy offers a space where you can unwind, share openly, and focus on what you truly want for yourself both now and in the future. Many people wait until they’re at breaking point to seek support and often say they wish they'd started sooner.

“The truth is that the midlife unraveling is a series of painful nudges strung together by low-grade anxiety and depression, quiet desperation, and an insidious loss of control. By low-grade, quiet, and insidious, I mean it’s enough to make you crazy, but seldom enough for people on the outside to validate the struggle or offer you help and respite. It’s the dangerous kind of suffering—the kind that allows you to pretend that everything is OK.”

Let's get started

If you feel ready to prioritise yourself, I’d love to hear from you.

Step 1

Complete the ‘Contact me’ form to arrange a free 20-minute introductory video call which offers us the opportunity to talk through what you hope to gain from therapy, for you to ask any questions and confirm whether we both feel we'll work well together.

Step 2

We will book in your first session. Sessions are 50 minutes and usually weekly, same time and place.  I work flexibly but typically clients have 12 sessions initially and then we review next steps which could mean continuing open ended therapy or another block of sessions. Sessions are £65 online or face-to-face, paid in advance with a 48-hour cancellation policy

Step 3

During our first session we’ll explore your goals for therapy in more depth and discuss a personalised therapy plan. You may not be sure of what you want to achieve, many people just want to feel ‘better’. Working together over time can help you understand what ‘better’ looks like for you. Clients gain most benefit from therapy when they take time between sessions to reflect. I may offer opportunities to journal, provide resources or reading material depending on your needs and preferences.
